Urban environments – cities, play spaces, public transportation, and streets – have traditionally been designed by men and for men, often overlooking the needs of women and girls. It’s time to change the status quo.
What if our cities and public spaces were truly designed for everyone? Imagine spaces where pushchairs, small children, and the elderly move freely and safely. Picture shorter queues for public toilets, designed with women in mind. Envision play areas that invite diverse activities beyond traditional sports, engaging all children equally.
Whether you’re an architect, educator, policymaker, activist, or simply passionate about equitable design, this event is your chance to make a difference. Gain a deeper understanding of the invisible barriers women and girls face daily, and explore practical strategies to dismantle them.
Join us for an evening of insightful discussion and innovative thinking as we bring together leading experts, designers, and advocates to reimagine our urban spaces with inclusivity at their core.
All genders are welcome. This is more than just a conversation; it’s an opportunity to help shape a world where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.
6 O’Clock Sessions:

The 6 O’Clock Sessions are home to informed civic debate – topical discussion with a twist. These sessions are participatory in nature – different opinions are welcome, heard and respectfully challenged. Just the tonic for our polarised times. Everyone welcome.
