ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Joanna Averley, Chief Planner, Department for Levelling Up, Communities and Homes. Joanna Averley took up the role of Chief Planner in September 2020. She is a town planner with 30 years experience working across government, major projects and with local authorities. She has been involved in all aspects of planning research, policy, practice and project delivery. Prior to this role, she was at HS2 where she led on how the railway interfaces with its context with plan making and consenting processes. Until taking up the role of Chief Planner she was a London Mayor’s Design Advocate and Chair of the London Borough of Wandsworth’s Design Review Panel.

Joanna has worked on major regeneration and master planning projects from Manchester City Centre to the London Olympics.

Dr Patricia Greer, Chief Executive, West of England Combined Authority
Dr Patricia Greer is Chief Executive of the West of England Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership. She led the region’s devolution programme from March 2015, resulting in the creation of the Combined Authority in 2017. Previously, she held a range of senior private, central, and local public sector positions. These included serving as a Director at the Cabinet Office with five years in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit. She has also been a Strategic Director in local government.

Keith Bradley, Senior Partner, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. Keith is a Senior Partner with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, based in London and Bath. Keith is a Design Council Ambassador and a previous Chair of Cabe National Design Review panel and Oxford Design Review Panel. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Bath in 2018.

Keith has led numerous significant FCBS projects, with over 50 receiving RIBA awards, Civic Trust, sustainability, construction industry and housing awards. Keith led the 2008 RIBA Stirling Prize winning Accordia housing project in Cambridge and currently leads on urban, mixed-use, regeneration and masterplanning schemes throughout the UK, including London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and Bristol.

Tim Crawshaw, President, Royal Town Planning Institute. Timothy Crawshaw MA MRTPI FRSA is the 2022 President of the Royal Town Planning Institute, working as an International Planning and Development Consultant in the areas of urban design, planning, green infrastructure, energy efficiency and sustainable transport.

With experience in Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East, alongside an expanding UK practice, he has a specific interest in the role of the nature based approaches to addressing the climate emergency, alongside improving health and wellbeing outcomes and tackling inequality.

Jackie Sadek, Chief Operating Officer, UK Regeneration
Jackie has over 30 years’ experience in property development, managing large-scale urban regeneration projects and public private sector partnerships. She is a national spokesperson on regeneration matters, a speaker and broadcaster on regeneration issues. In 2010, Jackie was founder and Chief Executive of UK Regeneration (UKR), an organisation developing new models of delivery for regeneration projects. From March 2014 to July 2016 Jackie held the position of Specialist Regeneration Adviser to Greg Clark, Minister for Cities and then Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. Jackie is an original member of the Grimsey Review team, looking at what should be done now in order to better prepare our High Streets and Town Centres for the 21^st Century.
