About the Saturday Night Artists
Amadou Diagne
Amadou Diagne has centuries of West African Music at his fingertips. A former member of The National Orchestra of Senegal, Amadou rose to become one of the top West African Stars and a busy musician on the vibrant Dakar music scene.
Since moving to England, Amadou has been busy forging his musical identity. A favourite musician of Bristol Folk Festival, Amadou brings his groove to Late Night Folk. An artist not to miss.
Clay Bottom Jug Busters
Booty shakin’ blues & hard hootin’ hokum from the streets of 1930s Memphis.
Fresh from a season in New Orleans, Bristol’s harmonica toting, jug blowing, blues singer Joe Strouzer founded the Jug Busters with renowned guitar slinger Joseph Trudgeon. Add in Tim Hearn on Mandolin, Sadie Morningstar Capps on upright bass & Paul Archibald on drums & you have one hell of a show.
Thorpe & Morrison
The energising Thorpe & Morrison are rapidly ascending as one of the finest young folk & roots duos in the UK. Formed out of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the pair fuse their anglo-scottish roots into ‘a spellbinding mix of old and modern’.
The sharp-eyed festival fans might recognise them from the brilliant Filkin’s Ensemble.
